Mohammad Amjad Hossain is a PhD candidate in Medicine at the University of Adelaide, researching the immune functions of osteocytes and osteoblast-lineage cells in inflammatory and infectious bone disease, with a particular focus on antigen presentation, cytokine signalling, and host–pathogen interactions in musculoskeletal infection. His work integrates advanced techniques including confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, mixed lymphocyte reactions, and extracellular vesicle analysis, conducted within a hospital-linked, multidisciplinary research environment. Prior to his PhD, he completed a Master of Veterinary Medicine at Jeonbuk National University, South Korea, studying inflammatory and cardiovascular disease models. Amjad has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, accumulating more than 900 Google Scholar citations, and serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals, including Scientific Reports and Cellular Signalling. His research aims to advance understanding of bone–immune interactions with translational relevance to musculoskeletal infection and disease.
